Ashley Cole will miss England's clash with Russia in Moscow for the Euro 2008 qualifier on Wednesday.

Cole was carried off the pitch on Saturday during the second half of the win over Estonia. The full-back fell awkwardly in the England penalty area after attempting to block a cross

England manager Steve McClaren has ruled Cole out of this week's fixture, with England needing a win to guarantee their place at next year's European Championships, and instead brings Middlesbrough's Luke Young into the squad.

However, Everton's Phil Neville may be considered to replace Cole for the match at the Luzhniki Stadium.
