MALOUDA: I'M HERE TO WIN TITLES

Florent Malouda is expected to make his competitive debut on Sunday, and he has been discussing his excitement, and how he has settled in over the past four weeks.

The 27-year-old Frenchman joined up with the squad in LA last month, and has so far impressed in his pre-season appearances, but knows the Community Shield is where things get going for real.

'For me it's a very good opportunity to see the new Wembley, this game is very important because we have to show our understanding,' he said.

'I think that Manchester United are a great team, but I hope Monday morning I have my first title with Chelsea.'

Malouda feels he has settled in well with the squad, aided by the fact he already knew Didier Drogba and Michael Essien particularly well, in addition to a few other familiar faces around the squad.

'It was good, I think when I arrived at Chelsea in LA I met the team, the players, the staff and I had very good impressions. I was impressed a very long time ago because I knew a lot of players, and it really helped me,' he explained.

When he signed, Malouda was a target for several clubs, including Liverpool.

'I had a lot of options. It's not because of Didi, it's because I want to play here. I really appreciate the fact he plays here, I know other players, I was playing with Michael Essien too. I came to Chelsea and I see the way the team works, that's why I want to be here.

'There are a lot of reasons why I chose Chelsea., I'm here to win titles, I want to play every match to win and I think we have a good team with a lot of great players, maybe the best in the world. When we come here we need to win. The way I play on the pitch is to win.'

Malouda will be hoping to line up at Wembley alongside his great friend Drogba, who was the reason for his first visit to Stamford Bridge soon after the Ivorian signed for us.
