Robinho urges Real to consider offer

The agent of Real Madrid forward Robinho remains hopeful a deal can be struck with Chelsea for the Brazil international’s transfer after confirming a bid of £25 million has been lodged by the Premier League side.

Robinho is agitating for a move to Stamford Bridge having become disillusioned at Real and held talks with the Spanish side's president Ramon Calderon in a bid to end the impasse.

The 24-year-old has accused Real of slavery - a statement first made popular by Fifa president Sepp Blatter's description of Manchester United’s desire to retain Cristiano Ronaldo – but the player’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, is awaiting further developments, despite Calderon’s apparent stubbornness.

“I told Calderon we have a proposal of £25.4 million from Chelsea and that Robinho wants to leave," Ribeiro told Brazilian website globoesporte.com.

"Robinho said there is no point being unhappy and unproductive at the club.

“But Calderon said he would not sell - even for £100 million. I left the meeting thinking that was that but, after talking to other leaders of the club, I saw that this position might change.

“Robinho told Calderon he was treating him the same as Fifa president Sepp Blatter had said Manchester United were doing with Cristiano Ronaldo. That is, slavery.

“Madrid don’t want to release the attacker, in the same way United did with the Portuguese.”
