Chelsea will step up their bid to land Real Madrid striker Robinho this week by upping their bid to £25million.
The Blues had a £19.7m offer rejected by the Spanish giants last week. But they are boosted by the fact the Brazilian striker, 24, is desperate to quit La Liga for the Premier League and work with Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Real are trying to persuade Robinho - who can play up front or on the flanks - to sign a new five-year deal. But the Brazilian is unhappy the club appeared willing to sacrifice him for Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.
