Chelsea confirmed Alves interest & also Robben's leaving

José Mourinho has hinted that our summer spending may not be over after confirming that the club will be making an offer for Daniel Alves.

There has been much speculation about the Sevilla wing back in the media, and Mourinho yesterday announced that we were looking into signing the Brazilian.

Mourinho said: 'There is truth in the picture, there is speculation. Where is the truth, where is the speculation? I don't know very well.

'The only thing I know is that we want to make our squad even better, a right back is a position where we feel we can improve. To improve is not easy, you have to go for a good player and Alves is a good player. What's the offer I don't know, what Sevilla demands I don't know, even less.

'In the same line as Chelsea doing things in the last times, we will make an offer, a balanced offer not a stupid offer and if they accept good, we will try to get the player, if they don't accept, they don't accept.'

José on Robben

The subject of another player much in the news this week was also raised - Arjen Robben. There was a simple statement from the manager.

'I cannot speak about it. Until 31st August, anything is possible in terms of people to come and people to go. His situation has a lot of speculation behind it but of course also some true and we have to wait a bit more to see.'
